A Guide to the Best Apres Ski in the Espace Killy

Tignes and Val d’Isere are famous for their apres ski, so if that’s what you’re looking for as part of your holiday, you’ve come to the right place.

After the sun sets in the mountains, skiers across the valleys set down their skis and pick up their beers, and the towns transform into a buzz of restaurants, bars and late night clubs.

But with so many different venues across the mountains, it’s good to know which ones are most worth a visit, so you know you’ll be getting the best of the best.

Below is a tried and tested list of apres ski bars across Val d’Isere and Tignes that we at Chardons know and love, to give you some inspiration for how to spend your evenings.

The Boot Room & Le Moose – Les Brevieres

An all time favourite for holiday makers in Tignes Les Brevieres, Le Boot Room offers a cosy pub feel during the day and some great tunes for apres ski in the evening; with live bands often featuring. Central to Les Brevieres, you’ll be sure to see some familiar faces as it becomes the local meeting point for the town every night of the week.

Later in the evening, party goers make their way down the road to sister bar Le Moose where the fun continues for the hardcore apres skiers. Le Moose also has a bar in Tignes le Lac which again offers some of the best apres ski in the area.

La Folie Douce – Val d’Isere

Located up high on the slopes, this world-famous bar is your first point of call for apres ski as you make your final run of the day. In the afternoon, the dining area turns into a dance floor with live DJs and musicians entertaining the crowds until the early evening.

And for those who end up having a few too many drinks and can’t quite manage the ski home, the La Daille gondola is located right next to the bar, providing a handy lift down the mountain for apres ski revellers.

Dicks Tea Bar – Val d’Isere

Not a name to forget, Dicks has grown itself to become one of the biggest and most famous nightclubs in the French Alps. Serving food throughout the day, the bar then closes for a few hours in the evening before reopening to do what it does best – giving apres ski lovers all the booze and tunes their hearts could desire.

Open until 4am, Dicks ensures the party never ends after everywhere else closes up shop – so head here if you’re still going strong in the early hours.

Cocorico – Val d’Isere and Tignes

With a live band everyday and a DJ to follow for some late night bangers, Cocorico is highly popular among both guests and seasonnaires. Already a long time classic in Val d’Isere, Cocorico launched a second bar in Tignes last year, with both bars located at the heart of their valleys.

If your looking for a larger club for space to bust some moves, opt for the Tignes Cocorico. For a more intimate club vibe, give Val d’Isere a go.

Loop Bar – Tignes

An apres ski essential for those enjoying the slopes in Tignes le Lac, Loop Bar’s sunny terrace offers a great place to have a drink and listen to live music as the sun sets in the afternoon over the lake and mountains. And the fun doesn’t end after dark, as Loop Bar keeps the party going into the evening.

The bar also has three large screens, making it a popular venue for sport lovers.

Le Petit Danois – Val d’Isere

Open until 1:30am, Le Petit Danois is a great option if a nightclub is what you’re after. Very popular among younger guests and staff, the bar has live music and Djs throughout the week, and hosts special themed nights over the season.

Looking for somewhere to give you the party and the hangover cure the next morning? With its well-loved full English breakfast, this bar does both.

Le Bananas – Val d’Isere

Located at the bottom of the Olympic run, Le Bananas has a great selection of cocktails at happy hour prices everyday to quench that apres ski thirst. A tex mex and Indian restaurant during the day, this cosy venue pumps up the tunes as the sun sets upon the Espace Killy.

The bar also has an array of backgammon boards if that’s what you’re into!

Blue Note – Val d’Isere

If you’re looking for a slightly more chilled apres ski vibe, Blue Note is a great bar with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Situated super close to the pistes in Val d’Isere, this bar is perfect for winding down after a long day in the mountains and warming up for the evening ahead. #

Open till 1am, Blue Note also has table football for those who are still seeking a bit of sporty competition after a day on the slopes.

Marmot Arms – Tignes

Situated on the opposite side of Tignes le Lac, Marmot Arms offers live music, beers on tap, big screens for watching sport, pool tables, late night DJs, and happy hour drink offers.

This British-style pub serves food throughout the day before turning into a lively apres ski venue that skiers end their evening in time and time again.

Le Hibou – Val d’Isere
A cosy pub venue, Le Hibou is said to offer a warm, friendly living room vibe, providing skiers a chilled hangout place to relax after a tiring day on the slopes. Both the tunes and the food makes Le Hibou a much loved venue in Val d’Isere.
