Things to do in Tignes
Skiing isn’t all Tignes has to offer, as there are plenty of other activities to try for the ultimate fun-filled holiday with your family and friends.
For a full run-down of what activities Tignes has to offer, see the Tignes.net website HERE.
Or see below for a few ideas…
Visit a sports centre
There are a few different sports centres in resort which offer a variety of activities including swimming, spa, gym, indoor bouldering and climbing, indoor sports courts, and much more.
Try Le Lagon in Tignes Le Lac which offers free swimming for anyone with a lift pass. There is also a gym here and various fitness classes. And try Tignesespace for other facilities including sports courts, trampolines, and biuldering/climbing walls.
At Le Lagon you can also access the wellness centre which offers different temperature jacuzzis, saunas and rain showers. Both the pool and gym have full length glass windows so that you can look at the spectacular view. The pool is family friendly and has a small indoor slide, however there is lane swimming on offer as well.
Can’t get enough of the slopes? Hop on a toboggan and keep the adrenaline pumping.
Either hire taboggans or sleds from a local equipment hire shop and head to whichever slope takes your fancy, or give Expedition Cobra a go: a 3km tobogganing slope with a tunnel and a natural slope. Expedition Cobra is suitable for children and adults and will guarantee to have you laughing the whole time.
Head to the Lake
Each year, the lake in Tignes Le Lac fully freezes over. Once frozen there is a clear path mapped out so that you can walk over the lake from Le Lac to Val Claret. This walk has breath-taking views of the mountains.
In addition to walking over the lake you can also try ice diving, ice floating, and dog sledding, all organised by Evolution 2 – Tignes.
In Tignes les Brevieres, there is an ice driving course just at the end of the village – a great activity to try for a bit of adrenaline during your stay! And conveniently just a 5-10 minute walk from our Brevieres chalets.
Why not indulge in a bit of culture and take yourself to a concert one evening. From comedy acts to musicians, there are various evening events scheduled across the season for you to enjoy.
Take a look at Tignes.net for a full program of events – and keep an eye on this while you’re here as new concerts or events get announced all the time.
The cinema in Tignes Val Claret screens plenty of films both in English and French so you don’t need to worry about the language barrier. So grab yourself some popcorn and a drink, and treat yourself to a cosy evening watching a film with your friends or family.
