The long wait for the winter season is finally over! The snow has been coming down thick and fast here in Tignes Les Brévières and the slopes are ready for the perfect days skiing or boarding.
There’s a lot more than just skiing, boarding and après to keep you entertained this winter. The team-up at Tignes Development has a lot in store for this year to make it the best season yet – starting with a whole host of Christmas and New Year’s festivities!
Over the Christmas week, there are a series of enchanting events lined up suitable for all ages. From a torchlit descent by the ESF to a Christmas parade featuring Santa Claus himself and a series of fireworks displays, Tignes is guaranteed to deliver festive cheer.
The Christmas decorations are already up throughout the Tignes villages for you to enjoy, with a giant Christmas tree that can be found in front of the Maison de Tignes in Lac. Here you will also find a post-box to send letters to Father Christmas!
Here’s a breakdown of the specific Christmas events taking place:
21st December
Parade des Sélénites accompanied by Father Christmas between Tignes 1800 and Tignes Les Brévières.
22nd December
Torchlit Descent in Val Claret, followed by the Parade des Contes de Brumes (a series of stilts walkers in light up festive costumes) To finish off the evening there will be an incredible fireworks display in Tignes le Lac.
24th December
Father Christmas’s Tour of the villages. Starting in Tignes Les Brévières in the morning he will make his way up the mountain finishing in Tignes 2100 in the late afternoon.
New Year’s Eve
Get ready to sing the night away! Tignes are running a giant karaoke party in the heart of Tignes 2100, with a live band and lyrics projected onto screens for the whole crowd to sing along. 5 singers from the crowd will be invited on stage to join the band and sing their heart out in front of thousands. As the clock strikes midnight, a fireworks display will be set off to bring in the New Year! Shortly after this a pop-rock DJ will take over from the band to keep the party going.
Get ready to kick off the New Year with a sing-song! On the 31st of December, there will be a giant karaoke party right in the heart of Tignes 2100. Pop on your glad rags and expect to sing your heart out to classic French and international music tunes. No need to panic if lyrics aren’t your strong suit; there will be a giant screen displaying all the words live so that everyone can join in.
This New Year singing extravaganza is scheduled to begin at 22:30 – with more information to be released shortly. If there are any wanna-be pop stars among you, 5 singers from the crowd will be invited to join the stage and sing their hearts out in front of thousands of skiing enthusiasts. So, start warming up your vocal chords now – this might be the chance you have dreamed of!

13th and 14th January 2023
The E-Trophée Andros – an ice car race featuring a mix of professional and amateur racers. The fourth stage of this event will be held here in Tignes les Brévières!
10th – 18th March 2023
Mountain Shaker – a showcase of the world’s best freestyle and freeride skiing and boarding. This weeklong festival dedicated to freestyle culture will bring along 3 major events:
– The French Freeride Series (10 – 11th March) with the 1* and 3* Freeride World Qualifiers.
– The FISE Xperience Series (14th – 15th March) – an indoor skateboarding event held at Tignespace
– The Slopestyle World Cup (16th- 18th March)
18th – 25th March 2023
European Snowpride – a celebration of love in the mountains. Enjoy the upbeat live DJ music and unmissable Aprés sessions with friends and family.
4th – 7th April 2023
La Scara – cheer on the skiing legends of the future at the 40th international Alpine skiing youth competition.
17th – 20th April 2023
Festival Aventure et Découverte – immerse yourself in culture and art in the mountains at the International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival.
