Chalet Chardons Hatties ski lodge

Description

Chardons Sophia is a modern ski chalet in Tignes Les Brévières with spacious and stylish accommodation featuring well-appointed bedrooms and excellent facilities including sauna, WiFi, satellite TV and panoramic outdoor hot-tub overlooking the village and lake. It’s perfect for après-ski drinks to soak away the day’s skiing efforts. The chalet is located in the ‘Hauts des Brévières’ area and is a short walk to both the village centre and the ski lifts. Direct access to the slopes is via the new Brévières Chalet Lift at the end of the road only 100 metres away. As with all our accommodation, the chalet is great value and offers skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts a top-quality chalet holiday at an unbeatable price.

Chardons Sophia is laid out over four floors with plenty of wooden beams and local stone on display. The very spacious living area has an open fire, tasteful furniture and access to a south-facing balcony overlooking the village and lake. The open-plan dining and kitchen area adjoins the living area and is stylishly decorated with ample room for everybody to eat together. On a split-level down from the dining room there is a wet-area with shower and WC for use with the sauna and the outdoor hot-tub which, again, enjoys views over the village and lake. The ground floor has one twin/double en-suite bedroom and the ski-storage area with heated boot-warmers. The first floor has three twin/double bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms with WC and all finished to a beautiful standard. The top floor has four bedrooms. The two eaves bedrooms share one bathroom with WC and the other two bedrooms share the other shower room with WC and can be used as a family room via an adjoining locking door if required. All bedrooms can be configured as twin/double rooms.

The chalet sleeps up to 17 people. If the whole chalet is booked by one group, the 17th bed is free of charge.

The chalet is run and catered by three experienced staff, one chef and two hosts.

As with all Chalet Chardons clients you will benefit from unbeatable deals on your ski and snowboard hire plus substantial ski-pass reductions.

The Chalet offers our premium chalet menu featuring a hearty breakfast each day with pastries and hot options, sumptuous home-made cake for afternoon tea and a delicious five-course evening meal served with quality French bottled wine on six nights. Enjoy extra touches such as a nightly cheese board, canapés and welcome drinks during the week. See our Food & Drink page for more details.

The chalet features hot-tub and sauna areas which are accessed from the central living/dining area. The sauna is built in the Scandinavian style with a ‘hot-coal’ system that water is poured onto to produce the steam, multi-level wooden benches and a pine interior. Located on an external balcony, the hot tub is perfect for a relaxing après-ski soak with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the picturesque views over the village and lake. Between the sauna and hot-tub there is a ‘wet-area’ with a shower for use before and after bathing, a small changing area and a WC.

Access to the lifts is found by walking 3 to 4 minutes down to the slopes or via the new elevator-style ski lift that comes right from the foot of the pistes to the end of the road (around 100m from the front door). Depending on conditions it is often possible to ski down to the main gondola lift in the mornings from the top of the elevator lift.

There is ample ski storage within the chalet with racks for skis, an area for suitcases and bags and a heated boot dryer/warmer.

Free parking is provided outside the chalets but this is somewhat limited and can be difficult should there be significant snowfall as the snowploughs need to get through. We recommend that guests park outside the chalet to drop off baggage and then take their cars to either of the large free parking areas at the North or South of the village where they will be safely dug out in the event of snowfall. If guests are arriving by public transport, it is a five minute walk up to the chalet from the bus stop. Most private transfer companies will drop you at the door of the chalets.

With this addition to our range of lodgings we are offering an alternative higher quality style of accommodation from Chalet Chardons but with the same great atmosphere, fun staff and informal environment and, of course, the same great value skiing and snowboarding holiday prices. You will benefit from all the advantages of Chalet Chardons clients with regard to cheap ski and snowboard hire, reductions in lift pass prices and access to our knowledgeable reps who will be able to organise your skiing and snowboarding holiday needs.

Chalet Sophia is available for rent either exclusively for larger groups or on a room-by-room basis. Our prices are per person per week for catered accommodation in the chalet. Prices vary according to the season, contact the UK booking line or by email for a quote.

Reviews/Awards

We've stayed at a few of the chalets in the Chardons Group and all are lovely.Chalet Sophia lived up to our expectations! Really good social area with very friendly staff, Janine always happy and great sense of humour.Food was yummy and plenty of it, just what you need after a day biking on the mountains!Le Breviere village is perfect if you want to get away from it all, but with the free bus service up to tignes itself, you can be at the lifts within 15mins. Hot tub at the end of the day a real bonus. So much to do in Tignes in the Summer.

Another fab stay and looked after really well by staff (who only speak English-not a problem though as most other continental guest we met there managed well). Hot tub after days cycling was a welcome treat as was the bottles of beer from bar, great value at 1Euro each. We had catered option an food was just terrific as usual (thank you Janine and Jasmine). Stayed July 2016, traveled with friends

I have been skiing with a large group of friends for a number of years now. The chalet hosts (Eli, Krysia and Simon) at Chalet Chardon are the best we have come across. Always cheerful and friendly, our requirements were willingly accommodated. Meals were great all week. Chalet accommodation was ideal for our group and the games area for the younger members of the group was a bonus.

Stayed here (Sophia) during the Feb 1/2 term with my wife and 5 year old daughter. Resort was nice and quiet but with excellent access to the slopes. Chalet was 100m walk to escalator which then took you down to the bottom of the gondola and the nursery slopes - perfect for us. Accommodation was excellent and probably the roomiest I have stayed in when skiing. Place is really well appointed and the jacuzzi and sauna were a nice touch after a tough day on the slopes. Clean, tidy and really felt like home - despite sharing with 12 other people we didn't know....... The absolute highlight of the place was the hosts - Eli, Krisha and Simon - they were truly passionate about us all having the best possible break. Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. Completely professional, they were a credit to the company.

We have just returned from a great weeks skiing here, now like most I generally read the good and bad reviews but don't write many, however I think the all the staff at Chardons should get another pat on the back, Me and my wife stayed at Chalet Sophia and were really well looked after, the food was fantastic, breakfast, afternoon cakes and the dinner were better than a lot of restaurant's we eaten in! The hot tub and sauna was great the girls kept the whole place spotless and really made us welcome by being so friendly and helpful we got to know everyone really well, I am planning to revisit for biking this year and skiing next year, so thank you to Tracy, Sarah, T.J and especially Olivia and her team Sarah and Daisy.

Absolutely amazing experience staying here, had to book it last minute due to a previous booking error, and do not regret it one bit! The staff became a family away from home, the food was amazing, and location second to none! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Lukehh_93 | February 12, 2015

Went there for a week for snowboarding and I enjoyed all the meals provided including breakfast and dinner which was scrumptious! The staff were very friendly and helpful (Sally), and met a lot of good people staying at the chalet, while the banquet-themed dinners helped us bond on the same table. Overall great experience, would definitely love to come again!

We enjoyed our first stay at Chalet Chardons. I thought we might be the oldest there but found it a really nice mix of families, groups and singles. We shared a family room with our grown up kids and it was perfectly adequate. Shower very good and always lots of hot water. Food was excellent - and the vegetarian in our family was well catered for too. Everyone was really friendly and it was a very sociable holiday. Whilst there was no snow in Brev itself getting to the slopes was easy enough and the snow was good despite no fresh snowfall during the week we were there.

We stayed at Cals apartment which has connection to Chalet chardons apartment was good value and clean. But the Chardons staff were excellent the food was great and plentiful and we had two small children in the party of 11 who were well catered for, we were there over the Christmas holiday and snowed in so had to stay for extra night all the staff couldn't have done more for us they were fantastic ensuring we had accommodation for the night and helped us with all our enquiries Would definitely recommend.

Our chalet food will be one of the highlights of the holiday. We believe that skiing and snowboarding should be about getting fresh air, exercise, thrills and spills… and then coming back and completely spoiling yourself!

Our chalets offer restaurant quality breakfast, afternoon tea and a five-course evening meal including canapés and a cheese board each evening served with complimentary French bottled white and red wine.

Breakfast includes a selection of French pastries, freshly baked baguette, preserves, yoghurt, fruit, choice of cereals, tea, coffee, juices, porridge made to order and a different hot option daily (for example, on one morning we offer sausage, scrambled egg & tomato; on another morning we offer bacon, fried egg, hash brown and mushrooms).

Afternoon tea is served from 4pm and consists of delicious freshly baked cakes, tea (PG tips), selection of herbal and fruit teas, freshly brewed coffee, hot chocolate and cordial, all available until dinner. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day and after dinner.

Dinner is served in a communal setting – as a 5-course meal with canapés and cheeseboard. Generous portions are served t ensure that you will always leave the table feeling full!

A packed lunch can be ordered for a small fee each day and will be prepared for you to pick up at breakfast if you are going on a day trip or just want to save money on the mountain.

Children, vegetarians, vegans and special diets are all catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking and the menu can be discussed further with your chalet team. If you have specific requirements (vegan, allergies, celiac) we would ask that you let us know sometime in advance so we can prepare and to bring any special foods with you as many of them can be very hard to source in France.

Chef’s night off is normally on a Wednesday or Tuesday when the hotel staff have some well deserved time off. Our staff will be happy to recommend some of the many excellent restaurants in the village.
