Chalet Chardons is a simple yet comfortably furnished hotel in Tignes Les Brévières with up to 56 beds available. The Chardons is primarily aimed at budget minded skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts looking for an affordable ski or snowboard holiday. Chalet Chardons is ranked Number 1 on Tripadvisor in the whole of Tignes. We would like to think that this is down to excellent food, good company, great access to the lifts and the best possible value for money in the Espace Killy. We are very proud of our reputation as we are in competition with many far more luxury and expensive chalets.

The chalet is excellently located in the heart of Tignes Les Brévières with no more than a two-minute walk to any of the bars or restaurants, ski-lifts, nursery slopes or other amenities. In addition to this the children’s play area and lake are just at the back of the hotel as well as the cross-country ski/walking area. There is a supermarket just opposite the front door and free parking is available at both ends of the village, no more than 250 metres away, if the spaces right next to the hotel are full.

The majority of bedrooms are en-suite with comfortable double/twin or bunk beds. Towels can be supplied for a nominal deposit if you do not want to bring your own (fully refundable on return of the towel). All rooms have a wardrobe or chest of drawers and storage space. Most have views over the lake or village. Hot water is plentiful and all rooms are fitted with modern power showers. Hair dryers are not supplied within the rooms but can be borrowed from the office if needed. All bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily by the chalet staff as well as all communal areas.

In the hotel is an alpine style residents bar with comfortable seating serving a selection of local beers, wines and spirits as well as imported drinks such as Stowford Press, Guinness and British ales. There is a dining area with a tea and coffee station with hot drinks available throughout the day, and a large balcony overlooking the picturesque Les Brévières lake. On the ground floor is a ski and boot storage room.

In spite of being a budget hotel we pride ourselves on the quality of cuisine we offer in Chalet Chardons.

A hearty breakfast consists of a choice of cereals, fruit, preserves, yoghurts, selection of French pastries, freshly baked baguette, porridge, and different daily hot options (for example, one morning we offer sausage, hash browns and beans; another day we offer ham, scrambled egg and grilled tomatoes) plus tea (PG tips), fruit teas, coffee, hot chocolate and juice.

Afternoon tea is served from 4pm with freshly-baked cakes plus beverages.

The evening meal is the central point of the chalet day and consists of a three-course meal or banquet style meal with complimentary French wine. A cheese board is offered once a week with a selection of French cheese, homemade chutney, crackers and a complimentary port. All our food is home-made by our carefully selected professional head-chef, sous chef and kitchen team. We take pride in the quality of our food aim to provide plentiful portions as we know that skiing and snowboarding works up a good appetite! We endeavour to never let customers leave the table feeling hungry

In recognition of our efforts in the skiing and snowboarding budget accommodation market we have been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for five years running for 2011, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 2016

The hotel residents bar is open each day from 4pm when the day’s skiing or snowboarding is finished. As well as serving the usual selection of drinks, the bar plays music and shows skiing and snowboarding videos. Sky Sports is available in the nearby Moose Bar. Vin Chaud or other specialities are often available as well as snacks to tide you over between getting off the slopes and dinner.

If you are looking for budget accommodation in Tignes then look no further, excellent and plentiful food in a great atmosphere sharing tables with other guests. The rooms are basic and you may end up sharing with strangers but that's part of the experience. It can be noisy at night from Le Moose bar so take some ear plugs and you will be fine! The staff are excellent and very helpful and will get your lift pass for you in advance with a small discount applied. The location is superb for the lift up to Tignes Le Lac but Le Breviere is lower so the run back could suffer later in the season but we were lucky to enjoy great conditions and we even got a powder day in mid April, can't be bad. I would definitely use Chalet Chardons again in the future and look forward to returning next season. Stayed April 2016, traveled with friends

Chalet Chardons is described on their website as a budget chalet hotel but having spent a week in Tignes I can tell you that it didn't feel that way! The chalet is located next to Intersport in the Tignes Les Brevieres village and is close to everything from shops, bars, restaurants but most importantly the slopes! There are other chalets that are higher up the mountain but this one is on the main road and really easy to get to. I really loved the family atmosphere of the chalet, staff were always happy to hep, good to chat with and very good at their jobs. No job was too big or small! If you want to spend some time in the mountains and don/'t want to spend a fortune then I would definitely recommend Chardons as a place to go. Staff made for a great holiday and the weather was awesome! Planning to come back here in the summer for biking or the winter for another ski holiday

Superb staff really friendly will use you guys again the chalet was great the location was good too close enough but still retains that feel of a French village rather the concrete purpose built resorts as you sometimes see.

Absolutely smashing time at Chalet Chardons - was a great value for 8 friends to get some time on the ski slopes! Delicious, hearty food by Chef Majic, boardgames or bars for evening entertainment and close to slopes! Loved the location - Tignes Les Brévières - such a beautiful French mountain village, much nicer than busier higher Tignes. Would definitely recommend! Stayed February 2015, traveled with friends.

We stayed with chardons from March 7th for a week with no complaints. We were totally looked after by Pat and Beth who went out of their way to ensure everyone had a brilliant holiday. With recommendations on and of the slopes their knowledge proved to be invaluable. The food was amazing, both quantity and quality was perfect, especially with afternoon cake to tuck into. Rooms were clean and comfy. Would happily recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a snowboarding/ski holiday, whether its your first snow holiday or 10th, you're 20 or 60 you won't be disappointed. This was our second time with chardons and I doubt it will be our last.

Chalet Chardons food is one of the highlights of your holiday. We believe that skiing and snowboarding should be about getting fresh air, exercise, thrills and spills… and then coming back and completely spoiling yourself! Chalet Chardons hotel offers a simpler menu than the smaller chalets consisting of classic dishes designed for hungry skiers and snowboarders who’ve done a hard day’s sport.

At Chardons restaurant quality breakfast, afternoon tea and a three-course evening meal with complimentary wine, all meals are taken in the dining area in a communal setting.

Breakfast has a selection of French pastries, freshly baked baguette, preserves, yoghurt, fruit, choice of cereals, tea (PG tips), freshly brewed coffee, juices, porridge cooked to order and a different hot option daily (for example, one morning we offer sausage, scrambled egg & tomato; another morning we offer grilled ham, hash brown and mushrooms).

Afternoon tea is served from 4pm and consists of delicious freshly baked cakes, tea (PG tips), selection of herbal and fruit teas, freshly brewed coffee and hot chocolate all available until dinner. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day and after dinner.

Dinner is served in the dining room of the hotel in a convivial setting – a 3-course or banquet style meal with cheese board once a week. Plentiful portions are served ensuring you will be well fed and nobody will leave the table feeling hungry.

A packed lunch can be ordered for a small fee each day and will be prepared for you to pick up at breakfast if you are going on a day trip or just want to save money on the mountain.

Children, vegetarians, vegans and special diets are all catered for. Just let us know at the time of booking and the menu can be discussed further with your chalet manager and hosts on arrival. If you have specific requirements (vegan, allergies, celiac) we would ask that you let us know sometime in advance so we can prepare and to bring any special foods with you as many of them can be very hard to source in France.

Chef’s night off is normally on a Tuesday when the hotel staff have some well deserved time off. Our staff will be happy to recommend some of the many excellent restaurants in the village.
