E-Mail problems

February 2007 - changes to the way we handle e-mail.

Recent estimates indicate that approximately 95% of all e-mail running around the internet is now spam. This is automated e-mails attempting to sell you a whole load of things that you undoubtedly don't want to buy. Because of this increase, we have progressively changed our website to try to keep the spam traffic to a minimum.

Up till now (Feb 2007) the website had automated links which would fire up your e-mail program with our address already filled in so that we could avoid listing it on the website - this is to defeat the 'spambot' programs that run around the net gathering addresses. However, this method had its own problems...

For a small percentage of users, mainly those on company networks or behind complicated firewalls, this did not work and either the mail program would not start or the mail was never received by us.

As a result, we have now created the e-mail form you have just seen. This takes the text you enter and generates an e-mail from our own web-server which is then delivered direct to us. This at least guarantees that we will receive it. 

• We reply to ALL email! If after a couple of days you get no reply then PLEASE RING as it is possible that some company networks or certain email addresses (AOL for example) will not accept our e-mail but then don't let us know that it has not been delivered. There is little we can do about this but please don't assume we've not bothered to reply! WE ALWAYS REPLY TO EVERY EMAIL SENT TO US. IF YOU GET NO REPLY, NORMALLY WITHIN 24 HOURS, THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM.

Email is a constantly evolving area and things are becoming more difficult due to the huge volume of mail that is Spam. Thank you for your understanding and please be aware that as a small independent company we don't have the resources that a huge company like Easyjet has and we have to find alternative solutions to problems like these.
